This advanced level program is designed to prepare the high qualified, certified classroom teacher with the skills necessary to effectively teach reading in grades K-12. This program prepares teachers who currently hold a bachelor’s degree and a teaching license to become a highly-qualified reading teacher. The program is designed to provide three unique foci in graduate coursework: Teaching as research, 作为读写能力的写作, and serving as professionals dedicated to social justice. It will blend face-to-face classroom instruction with online courses. It is designed to be action oriented; candidates will be able to put coursework theory into immediate practice. This doctoral program is designed for practitioners. These individuals are advancing in their fields of education and yet understand the need for the terminal degree. They aspire to continue as practitioners while understanding research and its application to their fields. This program follows programs in law, 护理, 药店, and medicine such that the candidates study, learn and practice their profession.
